Who We Are
Brushback Baseball Club began in Mountain View in 2011. Owner Kris Mims' vision was to create a successful baseball organization whose families feel like each player has value, no matter what level of skill he offers the program. Brushback Baseball Club is built on hard work, respect, and dedication, and its coaches develop team chemistry by stressing the importance of treating each member of the program like he is family.
Often, wins and losses are emphasized at the expense of the little things that make a good ball player great. Teaching players the mental side of baseball, doing the little things right, and being a team player, is how Brushback develops its players for baseball and for life. From the coaches’ perspective, our most rewarding moments are not when we win the games, tournaments, and showcases, but when our players are selected to their Little League All Star teams, make their high school teams, and go on to play in college. These are the reasons we coach; these are the qualities we teach at Brushback Baseball Club.
Since its beginning in 2011 with a single 13U team, Brushback Baseball Club has grown to 6 teams and has won a total of 88 Championships including several top 5 finishes in Cooperstown, the Desert Fall Classic, the Extreme Baseball World Series, a second place finish at the 2015 Firecracker Classic and the Pathway Invitational in Albuquerque in 2021 . In 2017, Brushback's 14U team went 7-0 on its way to winning the prestigious Desert Fall Classic in Las Vegas.
Coach Mims has led the Spartans to 7 straight CCS appearances including winning the schools first title in 2019. They will be appearing in the prestigious Boras Classic in 2022. The Spartans have gone 93-54 in his time as head coach.
Since 2015 Brushback has seen the program help send 25 players to collegiate baseball, including 2020 1st round draft pick (17th overall) Nick Yorke.
