Kris Mims has devoted his life to baseball, first as a player and then as a coach. After four years playing for Los Altos High School, Kris went on to play at De Anza College and then Menlo College.
Kris’ high school experience began when he was the Head Varsity Assistant at Mountain View High School in 2006. In 2007, he returned to his alma mater as Varsity Pitching Coach. For the 2007 and 2008 seasons, Kris was also the Head JV coach for Los Altos. During his six years at Los Altos, Kris coached players all the way to three CCS Finals and developed a pitching staff that averaged 20 wins a season.
While at Los Altos High School, Kris started Brushback Baseball Club in 2011 with a 13U team. Since then, Brushback Baseball Club has grown to 10 teams and has won a total of 74 USSSA Championships in addition to several top 5 finishes in Cooperstown, the Desert Fall Classic Extreme Baseball World Series, and Firecracker Classic.
In 2013, Kris was named the Head Varsity Coach for Silver Creek High School, a team that had won only 15 games total over the two years prior to his arrival. During the two years Kris coached the team, Silver Creek improved to a record of 28-25. In 2015 Kris was named Head Varsity Coach of Mountain View High School, where in 2016 led the team to its first league title and postseason appearance in six years. In 2019 Coach Mims led the school to its fourth consecutive CCS appearance and its first ever CCS Division I Championship.
